I’M LAUGHING SO HARD. THAT’S IT GUYS, THAT’S ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW.
ARE YOU READY TO FUCKING FLY
I will always try and reblog this.
The keffiyeh is another highly appropriated item that we should really talk about more. It’s cultural appropriation, but it’s also a religious item, which makes it even more sacred to the culture. It differs from a regular scarf (read the description in the picture) so I’m not saying never wear a scarf again. But don’t wear a keffiyeh if you’re not Jewish.
It belongs to multiple cultures across the Middle East, you dumbass. Israeli Ashkenazi Jews have since tried to appropriate the keffiyeh and incorporate it into Israeli culture while violencing Palestinians, to whom it genuinely belongs. The keffiyeh is a symbol of resistance for Palestinians against occupation and colonization. The fact that you attempt to take this away from the Palestinians and give exclusive rights of it implicitly to their oppressors is vile. The fact that you do this under the guise of cultural appropriation is appalling. Indeed, you are in fact advocating cultural appropriation of the keffiyeh and expropriating it from Arabs. Stop fucking blogging and posing as an authority on cultural appropriation before fucking educating yourself, my God.
Wait wait wait, is she SERIOUSLY suggesting that WE SHOULDN’T WEAR THE KEFFIYEH BECAUSE WE’RE NOT JEWISH?
THE KEFFIYEH, THAT WE’VE BEEN WEARING FOREVER?
Seriously, like is this a joke? Is this bizarro day where everything is the opposite?
Also she has the nerve to call it a religious item. This seriously cannot be real, it’s either a troll or Israel’s mass attempt to erase all forms of Palestinian identity and resistance through hasbara bloggers tbh
